NovaSAID is a research company
developing compounds that selectively inhibit PGE2 synthesis, for
the treatment of diseases associated with inflammation, pain and
fever.
Our goal is to develop a compound that selectively inhibits prostaglandin
E synthase (mPGEs-1) and that has a superior side-effect profile
compared to COX-2 inhibitors and traditional NSAIDs. |

NovaSAID was founded in 2004
by Associate professor Per-Johan Jakobsson and Professor Ralf Morgenstern,
who together with Professor Bengt Samuelsson discovered the enzyme
mPGEs-1 in 1997. The company was a subsidiary to Actar until 2008
when it became independent with Karolinska Development Holding AB
as the majority owner.
NovaSAID is situated at the Karolinska Institute Science Park,
Stockholm, Sweden. |
